Kushiel Angel
Kushiel, which means “God’s Rigid One,” is an angel that punishes people in Hell while simultaneously residing in the third Heaven.
Kushiel is claimed to be the “presiding angel of Hell,” punishing entire countries and empires with the Bane of Nations, a fiery whip. Each lash applied by this whip signifies a national sin done by a whole nation, most commonly in war crimes and genocides. These lashes are felt by the souls of all those guilty for the country’s sins, as long as they are within the confines of Hell.
Kushiel, along with Hutriel, Lahatiel, Makatiel, Puriel (sometimes written Pusiel), Rogziel, and Shoftiel, is one of the seven angels of retribution. According to The Testament of Solomon, the angels of retribution are led by archangels, who are led by the angel (angels) of death.
