Numerology

Numerology is the belief that there is a divine or mystical connection between a number and one or more events that happen at the same time. It is also the study of how the letters in words, names, and ideas are worth in terms of number. It is often linked to the supernatural, along with astrology and other divinatory arts. A lot of people have thought about numerology for a long time, but the word “numerology” wasn’t used in English until about 1907. This word can be used to describe people who believe in numerical patterns and make false scientific claims based on them, even though they don’t use traditional numerology. In his 1997 book, Numerology: Or What Pythagoras Wrote, mathematician Underwood Dudley uses the term to talk about people who use the Elliott wave principle to look at the stock market.
