Spirit Guides
A spirit guide, in Western spiritualism, refers to an entity that stays as a discarnate spirit to act as a companion or protector to a living incarnated human being.
Spirit guides could also speak to a person through numbers or number sequences like 111, or the person might have a lucky number, and when someone goes for a job interview, their random number is in the company’s address.
Spirit guides could talk to someone by sending musical messages, like a song that always inspires the person playing on the radio when they get in the car after a rough day. Spirit guides might send someone a dream that gives you an idea about handling a situation, or a guide could even appear to them in a dream. Spirit guides send generous people and prospects your way, another state of communication that often demands them to take steps concerning the person or possibility their guide has sent or somehow put on their radar.
Description Of A Spirit Guide
In standard African belief systems, well before the reach of Christianity and Islam, Africans acknowledged and continued to believe in the infinite and ubiquitous spirit of the predecessors and the Almighty God. The ancestors are considered the ‘living-dead,’ who persist in showing a benevolent interest in the day-to-day lives of their living offspring. Ancestor spirit guides are ideal for the living and may contain deceased parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, uncles, or aunts. It is thought that because they have traveled to the other side of life, the spirit guides function as intermediaries between the living and the Almighty God. This form of life is viewed as ancestor reverence, communication, or remember, not as ancestor idolization per se. It is essential to view gods and guides as different entities.
According to Western theosophical philosophy, spirit guides are not invariably of human descent. Specific spirit guides live as energy, in the cosmic domain, or as light beings, high-level spirit guides. Some spirit guides are individuals who have lived many former lifetimes, settled their karmic debts, and gone past a need to reincarnate. Many enthusiasts believe that spirit guides are selected on ‘the other side’ by human beings about to incarnate and hope for aid.
Some early modern Spiritualists did not prefer the concept of spirit guides. Spiritualist writer and medium E.W. Wallis, reporting in A Guide to Mediumship and Psychic Unfoldment, communicated that the idea of spirit guides is disempowering and rude to both spirits and living people. Although he does not reject that pursuing people may be supported by spirits here and there, he criticizes the view that said spirits are selected or appointed to do nothing but support the living. He urges would-be mediums to steer clear that they are being ‘guided’ unless they have verifiable evidence that such is the possibility. This thought creates a conflict in the study of Spirit Guides and provides a contradicting view of the belief.
Firsthand Accounts
Theresa Caputo, the Long Island-based, Pigasus Award-winning ‘medium’ of the reality TV series Long Island, Medium, names her guide ‘Spirit,’ arguing that it is an entity that she has been able to discern since she was four years old.
19th and 20th-century American Spiritualists often defined their guides as resembling Native Americans. One famous spirit guide of this kind, experienced by many Anglo-American Spiritualists, was called White Hawk. Among African-American Spiritualists, particularly those in churches established by or controlled by Mother Leafy Anderson, the Native American guide was anointed, Black Hawk. It was supposed to be the spirit of the Sac tribe fighter of an identical name.
Types Of Spirit Guides
There are six types of Spirit Guides. Spirit Guides can arrive in any form or state to improve an individual’s life. However, researchers have classified them into these six categories to understand their message in a better manner.
Archangels
Archangels are supervisors in the angel world and have a powerful, colossal energy signature. If an individual is an empath or is sensitive to energy, one might feel an energy shift in the room when they call on an archangel. Each archangel has a skill, like Archangel Raphael’s healing specialty, and can work with countless humans at once.
Guardian Angels
Guardian angels belong exclusively to individuals, and most people have more than one. Guardian angels have devoted their lives to assisting people. Call on them anytime for immediate assistance. They love people unconditionally, forever. One must remember that angels are nondenominational and work with individuals of all religions and spiritual ideas.
Spirit Animals
Spirit animals might be a pet someone once had who passed away and is now a component of your spiritual guidance team. Spirit animals can also be anything that has something to teach a person, like a peacock teaching the importance of beauty or confidently owning people’s gifts, or the wolf showing them the significance of getting their survival needs met.
Ascended Masters
Ascended Masters such as Buddha or Mother Mary were once human, breathing journeys of profound spiritual growth and impact. Now they have a unique position as leaders in the spirit world and as guides or teachers to humans. All ascended masters are companions and function together in harmony, no matter what society or religion they were part of when they were in the living land.
Departed Loved Ones
Loved ones, relatives, or family members who’ve passed on may choose to be spirit guides and actively support someone from heaven by helping them efficiently, sending career opportunities, or nurturing relationships.
Any individual who has passed on might become a spirit guide for a person. If someone is a dancer, they could have a spirit guide on their team who was once a dancer and performer and now wants to help guide and inspire people as an artist.
Helper Angels
Helper angels are ’freelance angels,’ so to say, who are just searching for humans to assist with specific problems, like discovering new friends or locating a new office space.
